Apple Inc.: Exploring the Innovation Khalid Nijmeh; Dec. 2nd 2012 Steve Jobs: Extraordinary mind Steve Jobs, who is sometimes referred to as the father of personal computing, was the mastermind behind Apple’s Computers, iPods, iPhones, iMacs and iPad’s and is seen by many as a man who pioneered the personal computing industry and literally changed the way we live our lives today. Upon the announcement of Steve Jobs death, Apple changed the homepage of their website to reflect a full-page image of Jobs with text that simply says â€Å"Steve Jobs 1955-2011. Apple current Apple CEO Tim Cook stated: â€Å"Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.† The death Jobs stirred deep emotions inside and outside Apple and raised concerns about whether the company can, in the long run, continue its remarkable streak of hits. In August 2011, Apple named Timothy D. Cook as the company’s chief executive. Although, Apple already boasted the largest market value of any public company, On Aug. 20, 2012, it became the most highly valued public company ever.
